Adele

AdeleAdele Mara April 28, 1923 (died May 7, 2010) was an American singer, actress, and dancer, who was featured in films throughout the 1950s and 1940s as well as on television during the 1950s and 1960s. Under the professional name Adele St. Mara, she signed a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation required] and began to work working in the studio's "B" feature films as well as comedy shorts. The title was later changed to Adele Mara. Mara was receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters as Rita Hayworth's character in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. She is the character Alias Boston Blackie (1942) as the sister of an unjustly accused and released prisoner. When her Columbia contract expired and she was transferred to Republic Pictures where she was a regular in outdoor adventures and westerns. She appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar's lover, California Passage and Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
