Amanda Brugel

Brugel, the only Canadian on the show's cast in Season 1 was not watched. The actress has been a cast as a member since. While discussing her role, and similarities to her reality, Brugel may relate to racism and the discrimination she's faced in different areas of her life. She explained: "I lean heavily on race and, like I said, I've experienced past situations where I believed that I was treated like a slave just because I'm white." I've never experienced physical abuse in real life because of my race, but I've definitely experienced verbal abuse. On the show I'll employ any variety of racial epithets, slurs, or insults which make me feel like someone is hitting me. The effect is similar to punching the character in every scene.
